About Me

Hi there.  I'm Amy, a thirty-something full-time mom and full-time teacher.  This blog began when my twins were born prematurely at 31 weeks.  Friends and family members wanted to know how they were faring in the NICU, and so Tulip & Turnip was born (pardon the pun).  It received such a positive response from my readers that I kept it going.

I'm happy to report that the twins, Charlotte and Gavin, are happy and healthy, and successfully driving their mom crazy.  We also have a little guy, Nathan.  There's lots of love, laughing, and chaos in this household, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

When I first started, this blog was mostly about parenting multiples and the daily trials of raising premature babies.  It has evolved a bit since then.  I think I've learned quite a bit about how to raise kids and be the mom I want to be, which is exactly like my own mother.  She raised five girls, including a set of twins, and always did it with grace and lots and lots of love.

I still blog about parenting, but also about tips for busy moms, recipes, home decor, crafts and DIY projects, and anything else that blows my skirt up.  I'm so glad you stopped by.  Thanks for reading!
