So, now that I'm going to be the mother of three kids under the age of two, am I going to need a triple stroller? Because I really, really don't want one. Baby #3 is scheduled to arrive in December, so I know I won't be taking a lot of walks outdoors until the baby is, say, four or five months old. Is it reasonable to assume that I can push the twins in their double stroller and just strap the baby in the Baby Bjorn?
Also, let's be honest; I think my days of venturing to Target with the children by myself are numbered, at least until they are a little older. So if there's someone else going with me, we can have the twins in the double and Baby #3 in a single. No?
I am all about the Baby Bjorn! You won't be out much in the winter anyway (speaking from experience and logic). And when you do have someone to help you can use two strollers or heck, use the Bjorn. We swear by ours and use pretty much everyday--even in the house.
ReplyDeleteBe careful, those December babies are a handful ;)
Ahhh winter babies. I have 4 of them. You seriously won't go anywhere except the doctor. Trust me.
ReplyDeleteSo, I would highly recommend company on outings, and if the store has a shopping cart that seats two, then put the twins in that and Bjorn the baby (just one, right?) :)
Hey Amy,
ReplyDeleteI have the trips and we never got a triplet stroller....just a double and single as I never went anywhere by myself anyway!
I'd say with a newborn, you'll get a lot of time out of the Bjorn + double stroller and then when that time is over, you can do what I did for awhile....put the boys in the double and have La walk alongside me "helping" me to push the boys. If she got loose, it would've been easy to catch her w/ the boys strapped in. They're 3 now and I haven't used any stroller in several months...I take them out myself for short errands and whenever possible put them in the shopping carts (most big stores now have the 2 seaters for bigger kids and another can fit in the cart part....Target, Giant, Home Depot all have these.)
If you do want a trip stroller for later on, watch the rummage sales at the multiple clubs (or advertise for one in the newsletter). There's usually one or two at each sale. There are lots of mommies in your situation so there are more out there than just with trip families.
Have a great week ahead!
Blessings,
Jen
i agree that you can get away with a double stroller and a carrier. have you thought about a sling? with twins i didn't even consider it but it seems like it would be good to hold baby in sling while pushing toddlers. plus it seems cozy and warm ;) at target i have taken to putting one kid in the big part of the cart and one in the front part of the cart. they put up with it better than the stroller.
